The Safety program at Illinois State prepares students to serve as competent safety professionals by developing the skill set and intellectual confidence needed to support critical recognition and control of workplace safety and health hazards. We devote all of our resources and energy to creating learning opportunities for our students that are based upon a foundation in the sciences and emphasize the technical, management, and ethical aspects of safety and health.

Why Study Safety?

The field of Safety seeks to generate students who have demonstrated the ability to diagnose workplace safety and health exposures with the technological competency and prescience of professionals, advocate for effective loss prevention and control programs to all stakeholders within an organization, and function as contributing members of a professional organization through a commitment to ethical service and continued professional growth.
